ART OF THE DANFORTH

I was so lucky to be apart of a three-week long festival called Art of the Danforth with DoUC. Our piece was called Art of the Danforth Innovators' Fair: A Series of Programless Pavilions. We injected three structures into East Lynn Park and for three weeks watched them transform while also transforming the community. It was an investigation into personal needs finding expression in public space. Lacking a certain finish, they are nothing if not flexible; either all skin in need of bones or all bones in need of skin. Art of the Danforth Innovators' Fair was an experiment in shared ownership. Members of the community brought the pavilions to lift by adapting them to fulfill their personal, social, economic or political needs.

Threshold: Experience progression from one place to another

Transformer: Transform a structure to suit your most intimate needs

Inflatable: Inhabit a pavilion inflated by the wind
